Supreme Court to hear 2 BMIC cases today

Bangalore: The hearing of the two cases against the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) will be taken up by the three member Supreme Court Bench on Tuesday.
The first case, a public interest litigation, alleges acquisition of excess land, fraudulent practices and misrepresentation by NICE (Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises), the project company. The second case by land owners questioning the land acquisition for the project.
The Supreme Court — on December 6 — released the project company from the condition of not using the land for any other purpose other than road building, thus giving a leeway for NICE to pledge the land for bank loans. The court also posted the case to be heard together with the second case on January 10.
According to company sources, the work on the project is on stream. Of the 41 km in the first part of the stage one, work on 37 km is almost completed.
Bidadi will see the first township planned along the expressway when the first stage of the expressway completes.
Anil Ambani’s Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises (ADAE) is investing in the township to build its first knowledge park modelled on the lines of brother Mukesh Ambani’s Dhirubahi Knowledge Park in Mumbai.
