Nandini Layout residents lay siege to BCC

FED up over the poor maintenance of parks, roads, and other civic amenities in the Nandini Layout, popularly known as ’Singapore Layout’, members of the BDA Nandini Layout Residents W elfare Association on Monday laid siege to the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC).

Led by Association president K V Rajendra K umar , they urged Mayor Mumtaz Begum to take up developmental works immediately . Responding to the demands, the Mayor who heard the woes directed the officials concerned to take up the work on a war footing. The memorandum submitted by the association said several open drains have to be closed, installation of street lights, asphaltation of roads which are in a very bad condition, establishment of a Corporation Hospital for the benefit of the residents.

They also pointed out that though the parks have been well laid out, the plants were withering due to insufficient water .The Mayor is likely to visit the Nandini Layout tomorrow .
