ABSENCE OF CRANE PROVES A PAIN!

ABSENCE OF CRANE PROVES A PAIN!

Vijay Times

Bangalore: U nbelievable but true. The traffi police of Silicon City do not have a single operational heavy-duty crane to clear vehicles involved in accidents.

This startling fact came to light when the W est Division traffic police ran from pillar to search of a crane to tow away a lorry which had overturned after colliding with another lorry coming in the opposite direction on J C Road in the early hours of W ednesday .

As the morning progressed, and with no crane in sight, traffic piled up on the busy road causin a logjam lasting more than half an hour . Several traffic policemen were deputed to tackle the traffic jam which stretched up to Lalbagh R and Kalasipalyam. V ehicles were diverted t other roads and even allowed to circumvent one-way rules. The situation was finally brought under control at around 10.30 am when the police managed to procure a crane and tow away the offending lorry .

DCP ( W est) Basavaraj Malaghatii said the W est Division traffic police had been given crane but it was lying unused in a garage as the government had not sanctioned a driver .
