KSRTC will run these counters

BANGALORE: Commissioner of Police, Ajai Kumar Singh, on Monday opened two pre-paid autorickshaw counters at the Kempe Gowda Bus Stand and near the Shantala Circle.

The two counters will be operated by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) through private contractors.

A policeman will be posted at the two counters to regulate the use of pre-paid service.

The counter at the Kempe Gowda bus station is a new one and is situated next to the vehicle parking area.

Railings have been put up to regulate movement of the autorickshaws.

A passenger on payment of Re. 1 will get a computer printout that states the destination and the charge to be paid.

The charge is calculated in accordance with rates prescribed in the notification issued by the Government in 2002, which prescribes the minimum fare as Rs. 10.

Similar facility will be provided at the renovated Shantala Circle counter.
