Bangalore Metro rail project is likely to get a nod from the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs, which is scheduled to meet in New Delhi next week, said N S Boseraj, political secretary to Chief Minister.

Boseraj told reporters in Bangalore on Monday that Rajya Sabha member B K Hariprasad gave this information to Chief Minister Dharam Singh during Sunday’s meeting with MPs from the State.

Clarifying that there is no opposition from any one for the project, Boseraj said that former prime minister H D Deve Gowda had only asked the Government to review the project to see that it would not become a burden on the State exchequer. The Government would take all steps to make the project people-friendly and Gowda’s suggestion in this regard would be borne in mind while implementing the project, he added.
