BANGALORE: The road from Adugodi to Johnson Market turned hell at 4 PM on Sunday.

Again the city’s potholed roads, drains and traffic disrupted what was meant to be a happy Sunday. Traffic was paralysed for an entire hour.

Weekend shopping sprees to malls in Koramangala turned a nightmare after steady rain beat down on the city. Police said traffic came to a standstill at the Adugodi main road as two-wheeler riders running for cover parked their bikes on the roadsides.

They added that stagnant water on roads forced motorists to drive in single file for an hour. They attributed the situation to be the cause for the traffic jam, which covered the entire area from Johnson Market to the St John’s Hospital.

Traffic also crawled in Majestic, Langford Road and Double Road.

BCC sources said Koramangala was also witness to a large tree falling in Ward No 67.

The city received 12.6 mm of rain, according to the Meteorological Department.
