The Janata Dal (S) splinter group today accused former Prime Minister and JD (S) President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda of creating hindrance every now and then in the development works taken up in the city, with the latest casualty being the Bangalore International Airport project.

Talking to reporters here, Group Spokesman M Mahadev said Mr Gowda was responsible for the resignation of Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy from the Chairmanship of Bangalore International Airport Limited. The project had already suffered enough delay and Mr Gowda had now delayed it further by levelling baseless charges against Mr Narayana Murthy.

Stating that Mr Gowda was against development of the city, he said he had earlier created hindrance in taking up the Metro Rail Project for mass transportation in the city.

To a question, he said there was a need for formulating guidelines for judicious allotment of land to IT companies.
