The road repair work by the Bangalore Mahanagar Palike that was promised as part of the infrastructure upgradation project by the State government to the IT companies, remained pending on Monday, as the BMP demanded an exemption from the Transparency Act from the government.

According to BMP Additional Commissioner and In-charge Engineer-in-chief P K Srihari, the exemption would allow the BMP to expedite the work much faster. “If we get an exemption, we can skip tendering and save time,” he added.
