The Times of India

Bangalore is following in Delhi’s footsteps, becoming the the second city in the country to have pedestrian-friendly signal lights. Eight Pelican signal lights will start functioning on some of the city’s busy roads from Saturday.

New Delhi has three signal lights on the Ring Road where pedestrians can switch on the green light and cross the road. Similar signal lights, costing around Rs 1.5 lakh each, will be installed near the Police Commissioner’s office on Infantry Road, Cantonment Railway Station, Residency Road-Convent Road junction, Richmond Road-Convent Road junction, near Ulsoor bus stand, Muthu Mariamma Temple near K.R. Puram flyover, Hosmat Hospital on Magrath Road and Kempe Gowda Road near the old taluk office.
