The High Court on Tuesday indicated that it would appoint a supervisory committee to monitor the road laying works and to check the quality of materials used for laying roads.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Nauvdip Kumar Sodhi and Justice S Abdul Nazeer, which is hearing a public interest litigation complaining about the bad condition of roads in Bangalore city, has asked the State government to suggest a few names of prominent persons to be appointed as members of the committee.

Meanwhile, the BMP has submitted a status report on the condition of roads informing the court that it had taken up the road relaying work on war footing under 100 different packages. The report also stated that it has already completed road relaying work under 73 packages.
