Rs 7 crore alloted for Jayanagar facelift

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated the the Federation of Jayanagar Residents’ Associations at a ceremony held at H N Kalakshetra in Bangalore on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said a sum of Rs 7 crore had been allocated exclusively for the development of Jayanagar. He promised speedy execution of development works in the area and sought the federation’s co-operation in all the BMP endeavors.

Highlighting the objectives of the federation, its president K V Bhaskar Murthy said it was a forum to synergise the residents to work in tandem with the administrative bodies and the police to ensure progress, law and order in the area.


The federation comprises ten associations of the respective blocks in Jayanagar, he added.

Initiatives like supporting the underprivileged students, awarding the meritorious and providing suitable platform for the talented residents will be taken, he announced. The authorities will be prevailed upon to ensure better living conditions for the senior citizens within the area, Mr Bhaskar said.

The federation will press on the government to complete the pending and announced works in the area related to development of parks, installing street lights, broadening of roads, construction of flyovers, orientation of road traffic and so on, he explained.

Federation Vice-president V N Kamath welcomed. Secretary Keshava Kumar was present.
