Now rent a Kinetic, go around the town

Now rent a Kinetic, go around the town
New Indian Express

BANGALORE: Need to criss-cross the city for a day but your friend refuses to lend his bike? No problem, just rent a Kinetic.

At Matthew Joji Abraham’s Unicorn, which has been running a Kinetic service-cum-renting centre on Airport Road for the last four years, you can zip around the city for a day for Rs. 100. The bike is all yours for 24 hours after you pay a refundable deposit of Rs. 1,000. Use the scooter for more than 75 kilometres in a day and pay Re. 1 per kilometre.

You only need to fill in the fuel, furnish a copy of the driving licence, address proof and two references and then hit the roads.

Abraham first managed the Kinetic service station for ten years and then a foreigner approached him for a two-wheeler for a day. ‘‘It was then that the idea of a prospective business opportunity struck me,’’ says Abraham. He started with his own Kinetic and then bought a few second hand vehicles. Today, 24 Kinetics of the Unicorn fleet roam the city.

Normally all 24 of them are on the roads at any given time and you may have to give a two-day notice if you need one. Most of Abraham’s customers are IT professionals who are on short term projects and students. ‘‘We had rented vehicles to HAL also,’’ says Abraham.

Abraham has other options for those who need the scooters for different duration. To ride the vehicle for more than 10 days, pay at just Rs. 85 a day. If you need it for a month, the Kinetic is offered for a subsidised rent of Rs. 2,000 and a deposit of Rs. 3,000. One can even have a Kinetic for a year on contract basis. In case of longer duration the servicing is done by Unicorn at no extra cost.

Apart from renting out two wheelers, Unicorn also provides Kine-Care for breakdowns or other problems, 24X7. Call 9844024365.

Its true. The information is true. But what you all need to know is the post effect of it. I had taken the offer for 40 days. And after returning the bike they had claimed that engine got spoiled and charged me Rs.3000 extra for a new engine (and that too the bike was of 95 model). They are giving you the service but at the end, they will exploit you. So kindly stay away from this to avoid last minute shocks. A sincere advice.
