Free parking: Govt. yet to decide on report

BANGALORE, APRIL 11. The Government is yet to take a decision on the Principal Secretary (Home), Brahm Dutt's report on free parking in Bangalore, the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, said here on Monday.

Addressing presspersons after the inauguration of "Garuda," an integrated parking complex, he said: "We (the Cabinet) have already discussed the report twice. We will discuss it again shortly before taking a decision."

Earlier, during the function, Mr. Dharam Singh asked entrepreneurs to come forward and invest in infrastructure projects. The Government is ready to help them, he said. He appreciated Maverick Holdings and Investments Private Limited for its participation in the Garuda project with the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP).

The Chief Minister presented a cheque for Rs. 88.5 lakhs to the BMP Commissioner, K. Jothiramalingam, given by Maverick Holdings as the first instalment of the annual maintenance charges for "Garuda."
