The new Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) for Bangalore which is being prepared by the Bangalore Development Authority will be notified in January 2005.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a preliminary review presentation of the plan on Friday Chief Minister N Dharam Singh said that the revised CDP would include all the seven City Municipal Councils surrounding Bangalore. However, objections would be called for from the public before finalising the CDP, he said, adding that the plan is being prepared for the next 10 years.

BDA, the planning and development authority for Bangalore Metropolitan Area had prepared the first CDP, which basically details the land use pattern, in 1984 as per the requirement of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1961. The government had approved the revised CDP in 1995 which is in force currently.
Now the CDP is being revised again in 2005.
This time the BDA has involved French planning experts to help incorporate planning strategies adopted in the Western countries.
