A public meeting was also held wherein the association members took a dig at the State Government for not responding to their alternative suggestions.

The protesters said the alignment as proposed by the Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Limited (BMRTL) pass through CMH Road, resulting in dislocation of several shops and residential buildings. The association has, therefore, suggested that alignment be modified to make it pass through on Old Madras Road, without touching CMH Road.

The Association President Imtiaz Ahmed told Deccan Herald that the ridership (number of passengers) on Old Madras Road will be more compared to CMH Road, as the latter is the place where more number of affluent class people dwell. “A city rail always caters to middle and lower middle income group and not the affluent class,” he added.
