Bangalore: Promoters of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project have completed 56 km of the 62 km road works taken up in the first phase.
The target is to complete 41 km of peripheral road, 9 km of link road and 12 km of express way by the promoters, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE), in the first phase.
In a boost to the project, the Electronic City Industries Association has collected 35,000 signatures and approached the Supreme Court seeking throwing open of Hosur Road-Mysore Road stretch of the peripheral road.
About 400 metres of land is required near Gottigere on Bannerghatta Road for NICE to connect Hosur Road with Mysore Road. Once the stretch is completed, techies can commute between the Electronic City and Bangalore in under 15 minutes.
“This is the real cause behind the association approaching the SC. The petition has been admitted and listed for February 20,” a NICE representative said.
