‘Hushaar’, BBMP warns six film producers
Bangalore, Sept 3, DHNS:

Acting tough over the defacing of public properties by sticking film posters, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has sounded a “Hushaar”(Beware) sort of warning to Amarnath Hegde, producer of the Kannada film ‘Hushaar’ and five other film producers.

The Palike has lodged police complaints against these producers at the Upparpet police station.

Besides Hegde, cases have been registered against producers Arjun Sarja of “Vaayuputra,” Ramesh of “Jugari,” B N Pawan Kumar of “Cheluvina Chilipili,” R Anusuya of “Chamkaysi Chindi Udaisi” and B P Thyagaraj of “Ullasa Utsaha.”

A few months ago, the BBMP Commissioner Bharatlal Meena had warned the film producers and other commercial establishments not to paste or paint the government walls, to promote their movies or products.

He had warned stringent action against such people. However, the message was apparently not taken seriously by the film producers. Finally, the BBMP engineer lodged a complaint with the Upparpet police, who registered a case under sections 3 and 8 of the Karnataka Open Places Disfigurement Act.

A BBMP engineer said at a time when the Palike was beautifying the city by painting the walls with sceneries and places of tourist interest in Karnataka, these film producers continued to disfigure the public place by sticking film posters.

On the other hand sources in the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce and Industries said that they are compelled to stick posters at public places as they are not given space elsewhere. They said that they would protest and demand for space in public places for publicity.
