The state government has drawn up an ambitious road map to extend e-governance to all its departments.
The number of BangaloreOne centres, that provide various civic amenities to Bangaloreans, will be increased to 100 by the end of this year, from the present number of 53.
As of now, BangaloreOne centres are providing 28 services to Bangaloreans. These include accepting payments for water bills, electricity bills, telephone bills and passport applications, among others.
Four more services would now be added to the list, said chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, in response to a question put forth by N Yogish Bhat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Legislative Assembly. These new services will include reservation of tickets in KSRTC buses as well as reservation facilities to the Jungle Lodges.
Also, civic service centres on the lines of BangaloreOne are being set up in Mysore. Five spots have already been identified to set up these centres.
Similar services will also be extended to Mangalore and Shimoga in the days to come, Yeddyurappa said.
The chief minister added that the e-governance system between the district administration centres and the state secretariat will be set up by the end of this year and the system to integrate gram panchayats to district administration centres would be taken up in the next phase.
