Rain back in city

Rain back in city

Staff Reporter
Bangalore: A brief spell of intense rain on Monday afternoon brought with it a distinct dip in temperature in the city. Bangalore received 14.5 mm of rain, part of the monsoon which set in over the city a few weeks ago, said A. Muthuchami, Director of the meteorological centre.

Temperatures have fallen to as much as a pleasant 19 degrees Celsius over the last few days thanks to the clouds and rain, he added. According to the forecast, the skies will be partly cloudy, and the city can expect some rain and thundershowers.

Thundershowers — characterised by strong winds — generally occur during the early days of the monsoon, but will abate in the coming days as cloud cover increases, said Mr. Muthuchami.

Moderate to rather heavy rain is likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and light to moderate rain districts of interior Karnataka.
