Load shedding back in State

Load shedding back in State
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Unscheduled load shedding is back in the State, including Bangalore. While one to two hours unscheduled load shedding is imposed in Bangalore, it is between three to four hours for other places in the State...

According to official sources, a 500 mw capacity Bellary thermal power plant has not been working properly for the last one week.

Besides, the demand for power has shot up due to increase in temperature. As a result, the power utility has resorted to unscheduled load shedding, sources pointed out.

The Government had promised to ensure round the clock supply in cities and six hours three phase and six hours single phase supply in rural areas till May 2009.

Meanwhile, the Government has not been able to buy power from Chhattisgarh as negotiations are still on to fix the cost, sources said.
