HC eases way for Metro

HC eases way for Metro
Bangalore, DHNS:
The High Court eased the way for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) by dismissing three more petitions on Tuesday.

Prema Vijayarangan, in her petition seeking exclusion of her property on CMH road from acquisition for the project, had submitted that Shivshankar Bhat Committee recommended a station at the Arya Samaj on CMH Road. However, BMRCL countered that the Committee had recommended constructing a station at a place adjoining the Samaj and not exactly at the spot of the Samaj. Justice K L Manjunath dismissed the petition saying that the court cannot direct the respondent for acquisition of Arya Samaj. A petition on similar lines by Uma Maheshwari was dismissed after she withdrew it.

Another petition that challenged the establishment of the station at Trinity Circle was also dismissed.
