Bangalore:

Over 5,000 auto drivers will offer protection to couples on Valentine's Day in Bangalore. 'Jai Karnataka,' a pro-Kannada organisation founded by reformed don Mutappa Rai, will provide support to people celebrating Valentine's Day.

"We have formed teams of 20 to 30 members each which will be spread in various places in the city. If anyone create problem or trouble couples we will catch them and hand them over to the police," said Jeevitesh Shetty, Bangalore city president, Jai Karnataka.

Their teams will be posted near Forum, Garuda Mall, MG Road Brigade Road, Commercial Street, Lalbagh entrance and Cubbon Park entrance.

Besides the teams, 5000 auto drivers will protect lovers on the day. "Our auto drivers will be ready to ferry out lovers if there is any danger. Our autos will have a sticker with Jai Karnataka written on them. Couples can get into the autos in case of danger, and be assured they are safe," he said.
