Smart cards to replace driving licences soon
Bangalore, DHNS:
The State transport department will soon launch a drive to replace existing driving licences and vehicle registration certificates with smart cards having embedded memory chip.


The first batch of smart cards will be issued from regional transport offices in Bangalore from May. The card will have details such as name, residential and office address, date of birth, educational qualifications, identification marks, blood group and RH factor among others of licence holders.
