Litter fine leaves Lal Bagh clean

Litter fine leaves Lal Bagh clean
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Dirt, garbage and filth are common at huge gatherings. But the Lal Bagh Flower Show, which is attracting crowds in droves, is unique.

In a not so common show of discipline, visitors to the flower show at the Glass House have been displaying exemplary civic sense. People are cautious about throwing waste around.

In the wake of the recent terror attacks in the country, the theme for this year’s flower show is world peace, which is depicted by a globe made of flowers with two pigeons sitting atop it as symbols of peace.
The aisles were spic-and-span despite the large turnout on a weekday and the numerous food stalls. Garbage is immediately cleared as soon as it is spotted. An officer with the Horticulture department said, this year special care has been taken to maintain cleanliness. Fines are levied for littering. But, people have not given them a chance to impose the levy.
