KSRTC plans to roll out Benz buses

BANGALORE: After a successful run with the Volvo, the KSRTC now plans to go a step ahead in luxury with Mercedes Benz buses. KSRTC Director (Security and Vigilance) M A Saleem told The Express that the Corporation would run Benz buses on a trial basis from March.
“We are expecting two buses to be delivered by March-end,” he said. The KSRTC will get fully-built buses from the company. Though the route on which these buses will be plied has not yet been decided, he said that it could be on the Bangalore-Mysore or Bangalore-Tirupati route.
Officials sources from the KSRTC said that Benz was supposed to have delivered the buses in May 2008.
The Corporation has not fixed the ticket prices of the bus. “It will be slightly higher than the fare for the Airavat and the Mayura AC buses,” the officials said.
