BANGALORE: It that time of the year again. When Lalbagh becomes a flower-lover’s paradise. The biennial flower kicked off at Lalbagh on Thursday.
About 300 to 350 varieties of ornamental plants will be on display and sale, spread across 60 stalls and the glass house. “This year we have 435 home gardening participants, 275 indoor plants and 261 entries inside the glass house. Along with the commercial participants, we also have the Coconut Development Board, the Government Ayurvedic College and cottage industries participating,” said G K Vasanth Kumar, Director, Horticulture Department. This year the show has been restricted to a state show, and the participants are from in and around the city and state.
“Security has been beefed up this year. We have surveillance cameras fixed at four places,” he added.
