The deadline given for completing the work was three days. But it dragged on for a month
Work on the sto rmwater drain at the Opera Junction on Brigade Road has finally been completed and it will be open to traffic from Monday.

Traffic coming from Ashirwadam circle will now be allowed towards Mayo Hall through Opera junction. Vehicles from Mayo Hall moving towards Garuda Mall can either go straight to D’Souza Circle on Commissariat Road or take a turn at Garuda Mall to reach Hosmat Circle or HM Towers respectively.

Vehicles coming from D’Souza Circle towards Garuda Mall can take a free right turn at Garuda Mall junction and proceed towards Hosmat Circle. Traffic coming from Cauvery Arts and Crafts Circle towards Brigade Road can move straight towards Vellara Junction on Brigade Road or take a left turn to reach Mayo Hall at Opera Junction.

Though the initial deadline given for completing the work was three days, it dragged on for a month throwing traffic out of gear.

The traffic police had refused to allow traffic on the stretch fearing for the safety of the commuters despite BBMP claiming that a major part of the work was complete.
