NOT AGAIN!

NOT AGAIN!

Thursday’s jam was the result of hundreds of children walking from Vidhana Soudha to Palace Grounds for the Chinnara Habba. They started at 9 am — peak time for officegoers and college students. Roads all along the route were blocked.
Many children said they had not eaten breakfast. Some brought breakfast from home and a few bought eats at the stalls. Those who couldn’t do either turned back and went to their designated buses. The organizers offered a cup of Bournvita to all. Balaji, a director of Chinnara Habba, said, “They were provided snacks, hot beverages and hygienic drinking water.” Syed Ali Razvi, MD, Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation, said, “KMDC is only the sponsor. We have not organized the run. It was organized by Events Pro Visions Pvt Ltd and Goodwill Communication Ltd.”
TRAFFIC POLICE
Traffic police who are at the receiving end everytime there is a gridlock, which is often these days, had this to say. “Traffic jams on Bellary Road are not new. Every day in peak hours, there is a jam on that stretch till CTO junction. With the underpass works going on at the CBI junction, the problem has been compounded. Traffic police cannot build infrastructure, they can only manage the traffic. Heckling a police official won’t help in easing the traffic,’’ according to Praveen Sood, additional commissioner of police (traffic & security).
