Bangalore: Chickpet MLA Hemachandra Sagar on Monday iterated his concern over the N a m m a M e t ro project affecting the city’s alre a dy space-strapped roads. The MLA said introduction of Metro lines in the middle of congested roads will further eat into available motorable space.
Sagar called for a review of locations of Namma Metro lines and stations. He said the project must be redesigned to eliminate congestion. Highlighting that the initial cost of the project has doubled, he said: “It is not too late to amend the technologically outdated project taking public interest into consideration. There’s also a demand to take Metro underground in the core city areas.”
