Bangalore: The foundation stone for development works worth Rs 93 lakh at Vinayaknagar and Domlur was laid by Shantinagar MLA N A Haris on Monday.
The projects include laying of roads, improvement of footpaths and repair of drains and culverts. A playground in Doopanahalli will be improved at a cost of Rs 5 lakh.
The MLA visited the stormwater drain at Residency Road-Brigade Road junction, along with urban development minister S Suresh Kumar, to inspect progress. BBMP halted the work for a few hours following a minor snag. Pre-cast elements of the drain were laid two feet above the road, causing an uneven road surface.
Harris asked officials to ensure quality of road is not affected and that the drain is be covered properly after completion of the work. The road is an important one as it sees heavy traffic movement all through the day. The work is expected to be completed by Tuesday morning.
