City wades through rain woes

BANGALORE: Heavy rains, which lashed the northern and western parts of the City on Monday night, continued through the early hours of Tuesday, causing heavy damage in some areas. The city recorded 41.4 mm rainfall till 8 am, Tuesday.

Traffic had to be diverted as one big tree and four electric poles were uprooted in Adugodi.

A two-wheeler and a car that were parked near the tree were damaged. A tree got uprooted in the Ganganagara area also.

The rains caused waterlogging at several places, including Yeshwantpur, Peenya, Nagarbhavi, Chandra Layout, Mysore Road, Byatarayanapura, Rajarajeshwarinagar, Rajajinagar and Nagawara.

Rain water also entered many houses in the Vijipura and Vivekanagar areas.
