Traffic congestion in the city

Traffic went out of gear in and around KR Road, Chamarajpet, Gandhi Bazaar, V V Puram and Sajjan Rao Circle following Vijay Sankalpa rally organised by the BJP at National College grounds. The rally was scheduled at 6 pm and vehicles started flooding the roads by 5 pm itself. Week-end traffic further worsened the congestion.

Certain stretches were barricaded and police had banned vehicular movement on some roads. The traffic police, though made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow, were unable to cope up owing to large number of vehicles that hit the road. The situation eased by 9 pm.
