BMTC’s Vajra bus fleet crosses the 100-mark

BANGALORE: With the State Government announcing Re. 1 seamless travel offer on Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporations’ (BMTC) Vajra buses for four days starting Thursday, the corporation has geared up to greet new guests into these buses.

The number of Vajra coaches in BMTC’s stable has crossed 100 with the induction of 50 buses on Wednesday and the corporation has decided to operate these new buses on different routes, many of which were not covered by Vajra services hitherto.

As the Re. 1 offer is likely to attract a large number of commuters into Vajra buses, BMTC has issued detailed guidelines to the crew of these buses.

The corporation will also deploy two more personnel on each bus to handle rush, if any.

The news about this offer, which appeared in evening dailies and television channels, was already in circulation through short messages across all mobile phone networks.

People started messaging this offer to everyone through mobile phones so that no one misses this chance.
New routes

Following are the new routes on which the newly inducted Vajra buses will ply:

V2: Kempe Gowda Bus Station (KBS) to J.P. Nagar VI Phase via Corporation, Lal Bagh, Jayanagar Bus Station and J.P. Nagar I Phase.

V-210 I: KBS to Chikkalasandra via Corporation, Lal Bagh, Monotype, Banashankari BDA Complex and Padmanabhanagar.

V-201 R: Srinagar to C.V. Raman Nagar via Kathriguppe, Banashankari, B.T.M. Layout, Koramangala, Indiranagar, HAL 3rd Stage and Bagmane Tech Park.

V-331 A: Shivajinagar Bus Station to Kadugodi Bus Station via M.G. Road, HAL, Marathahalli, Sathya Sai Hospital, and Hope Farm.

V-402 D: KBS and Yelahanka VI Phase via Shivananda, Rajamahal Guttahalli, Mekhri Circle, Hebbal, Yelahanka and NES Office.

V-600 K: Vijayanagar to Narayana Hrudayalaya via Deepanjali Nagar, PES College, Kathriguppe, Banashankari, B.T.M. Layoutc and , Bommanahalli.

V-225 C: KBS to BEML V Stage (Rajarajeshwari Nagar) via Goods Shed Road, MCTC and Rajarajeshwari Temple.

V-314 B: KBS to C.V. Raman Nagar, Mayo Hall, Ulsoor and Indiranagar.

V 252: KBS to Peenya II Stage via Malleswaram, Yeshwanthpur and Jalahalli Cross.

V 195: Shivajinagar to Chandra Layout via Institution of Engineers, Sujatha Talkies and Vijayanagar.

V 25 A: KBS to Kuvempu Nagar via Corporation, Lal Bagh and Jayanagar.

V215 S: KBS to Konanakunte Bank Colony via Corporation, Lal Bagh, Banashankari and Konanakunte Cross.

V 315 – KBS and K.R. Puram via Corporation, Ulsoor and K.R. Puram Railway Station; two buses.

V500 D: Hebbal Ring Road to Central Silk Board via Kalyana Nagar, K.R. Puram Railway Station and off Sarjapur Road.

V45 G: KBS to Banashankari III Stage, III Phase (Kathriguppe) via Chamarajapet, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Hanumanthanagar and Bank Colony.

V500 K: Vijayanagar to ITPL via Deepanjali Nagar, PES College, Kathriguppe, Banashankari, Agara, Marathalli Bridge and Sathya Sai Hospital.
