Stolen cars and autos recovered by the police are being dumped on the pavement in front of the Koramangala police station causing inconvenience to pedestrians and those who come to worship at the Anjaneya temple nearby.

All pleas to the police to remove the cars have been ignored. “The problem has been around for the past three months. We have written to the police as well as met them, but no action has been taken,” says Mr N D Veeranna Gowda, secretary, Anjaneya Panchamukhi Temple. The temple receives hundreds of devotees every day, and nearly 2000 of them arrive for worship every Thursday and Saturday.

“The devotees are badly inconvenienced by the vehicles on the pavement. They are forced to walk on the road avoiding the pavement, which can be dangerous as this is a main road with speeding traffic,” says Mr Gowda.

People going to a park nearby complain that the vehicles are an obstruction when they are taking their children to play there in the evenings.

When contacted, assistant sub inspector of the Koramangala police station assured the problem would be solved soon.
