BANGALORE: The delay in the cleaning Ulsoor tank, after the immersion of hundreds of Ganesha idols, is creating trouble to the residents around the lake. Intolerable stench from the tank is keeping the regular walkers away from the area. “We cannot stand near this lake. The BBMP should have cleaned the water by now but it is not bothered,’’ said Suresh Nair, a resident of the locality

Students of a private college situated opposite the lake are the worst affected

The condition of the water has deteriorated in the past couple of days

A BBMP health official said the lake was smelling as the water had not been changed after the immersion of Ganesha idols. “The water was supposed to have been changed on Friday. But there was a technical problem. It will be cleaned in the next 24 hours,’’ he said.
