BANGALORE: The State Government has now found support in the form of IT major Infosys Technologies as it has backed the demand for reopening the HAL Airport, flaying the poor infrastructure at Bengaluru International Airport.
‘’Bangalore is a global city which deserves something better,’’ said Infosys Director and HR Chief T V Mohandas Pai.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function to mark the renewal of LIC group insurance of employees of the company. ‘’We feel the airport is badly designed and planned,’’ he said, as he expressed displeasure over the airport standards. As the HAL airport is more convenient for IT employees, I urge the State Government to reopen the old HAL Airport. ‘’Let the BIAL administration run the HAL Airport too so that it doesn’t lose out on revenue,’’ he suggested, referring to BIAL’s investments in developing the new airport.
Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, at a public function to mark the completion of 100 days in office on September 9, had said that facilities at the new airport were shoddy compared to other airports in the country.

Wonderful, Mr Pai. Now that your BS about the distance and commute time has been proved to be hogwash, you go ahead and attack the design and facilities. Did you know that your chairman Mr Narayanamurthy was the Chairman of BIAL when it was being designed?
