The Railways promising to fund the entire relocation operation. The armoury had not been a big attraction, but gained prominence only after it came in the new line’s alignment, he said. The doubling work, which was nearly complete between Bangalore and Ramanagaram, is yet to start from Mysore side. Even if the monument was relocated, it would take at least three years to complete the construction of the bridge across Cauvery and two more heavy bridges had to be built between Srirangapatna and Ramanagaram.

World class
On construction of the world-class station at Byappanahalli in Bangalore, Mr. Praveen Kumar said the railways had signed a memorandum of understanding with a Chinese consortium for the Rs. 100-crore project.
