Rain disrupts life again

Rains disrupted public life in the city for the third day on Tuesday. Those returning home after office hours faced convenience following rains in the evening.

Tuesday’s downpour had uprooted at least four trees and flooded roads in several low-lying areas. Trees fell at RT Nagar, near Hotel Atria, Koramangala and Vijayanagar in the night.

An electric pole came crashing when a tree fell. However, there was no loss to property or human life.

In some low-lying areas, water gushed into the houses. People spent the night draining out the water. Water logging was also reported in many parts of the city. In places like Murphy Town and Avenue road, people had a harrowing time wading through the water.

The Met Department has predicted rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours.

For the last one week the city has been regularly receiving rains, particularly in the evenings. The heavy rains on Monday, which began from around 8 pm lasted till the wee hours of Tuesday. During this period, the city received 44 mm rainfall.
