Former mayor C M Nagaraj no more

Former Mayor of Bangalore City C M Nagaraj (68) died on Monday. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Nagaraj, who had been ailing for a long time, passed away at a private hospital at around 10 am.

He was cremated at the Harischandra Ghat in the evening.

Nagaraj had been elected to the Palike twice from Gayatrinagar ward. He had become the Chairman of Finance Committee during his first term in 1990. He was Mayor between 2002 and 2003.
Nagaraj had built a chain of educational institutions.
