Luke warm response to VHP bundh in City
DH News Service, Bangalore:
There was a luke warm response in the city for the all-India bundh called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday.

Many shops and business establishment remained closed. About four BMTC buses were partially stoned.
Except for Malleswaram, Mahalaxmi Layout, Magadi Road, Banavanagudi, KG Halli, Banaswadi, Hennur, RT Nagar, Rajajinagar and Jayanagar the rest of the city was normal.

Around 300 BJP members under the leadership of local MLA Dr Ashwathnarayana, city treasurer Subbanna and a host of block leaders assembled at Malleswaram 8th Cross-junction. The agitators raised slogans against the Jammu and Kashmir government for revoking their earlier decision to allot land to the Shree Amaranth Shrine Board and burnt an effigy of J&K government.

Five persons were arrested in Hennur for obstructing the movement of traffic and creating a ruckus on the road.
Police gave the names of the arrested as Saravana, Subramani, Thimmegowda, Sreenivas and Venkataswamy.
Many were taken into custody and released by late evening.
