Heavy rains lash city

Heavy rains lash city
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Most parts of Bangalore City received heavy rains on Monday evening. Around 6 pm thunder-showers started, forcing the people to run for cover. Following heavy rain, a tree was uprooted at JP Nagar, 4th Phase.

Bangalore Met Centre director Dr Muthuchami said the City received 38 mm rain. There was no rain at HAL. According to him, the reason for Monday evening’s shower was that there was an upper air cyclonic trough from Telangana to Sri Lanka up to 3.1 kilometre above the sea.

City might receive some more spells on Tuesday as well. The upper air cyclonic system may move north-ward, he added.
