While giving due credit to the BBMP for responding to a Deccan Herald report on the sordid stretch, it is the integrated approach of the Major Roads division of the city Corporation that deserves mention. Before relaying the road, the department roped in the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board to replace the old and corroded water pipeline beneath the road surface, which was springing constant leaks and undoing the BBMP’s work.

Once a brand new pipeline was in place, the road strengthening and relaying was taken up and completed in record time.

Thus, the stretch which takes much of the brunt of the heavy traffic from old HAL airport end, was given a much deserved ‘complete makeover’. Kudos to BBMP and hope it pays attention to many other arterial and feeder roads awaiting similar treatment.
