Road to BIA: HC to set deadline soon
Bangalore, DHNS:

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday indicated it would fix a time frame for completion of the proposed airport connectivity projects by the State Government.

The division bench comprising Justice Ram Mohan Reddy and Justice Jawad Rahim directed the Advocate General to make available the list of projects with approximate time frame to complete the project by June 13.
The bench reminded the promises made by former Infrastructure Secretary V P Baligar on the various projects including the 46 roads connecting to the Bangalore International Airport, Elevated carriage and Additional roads connecting ring roads to BIAL.

It could be recalled that V P Baligar, Secretary, Infrastructure and Dr Subramanya, Commissioner BBMP came under severe criticism from the High Court Bench for the delay in providing connectivity to the BIAL on May 23, while hearing an interlocatory application.

The Infrastructure Secretary had said that several projects including Super Express Highways are being planned to connect the New Airport, while the BBMP commissioner had assured a signal free flow upto Hebbal.
The matter has been filed by Advocate G R Mohan, Social Worker Krishna Bhat and Bangalore City Connect Foundation.
