PM accepts Yeddyurappa's invitation to inaugurate new airport

Yeddyurappa told reporters here that during his visit to Delhi yesterday, he called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and invited him to inaugurate the Airport and that the Prime Minister had accepted the invitation.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has accepted Karnataka's invitation to formally declare open the newly built Bengaluru International Airport here, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said today.

Yeddyurappa told reporters here that during his visit to Delhi yesterday, he called on the Prime Minister and invited him to inaugurate the Airport.

The BIAL's project promoters have already started operations at the airport on May 24.

Yeddyurappa said he has requested the Prime Minister to sanction more funds to improve infrastructure in Bangalore city.
