BANGALORE: Less than a month since the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) issued a preliminary notification for the development of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout.

The Bangalore Development Authority head office has been flooded with complaints and objections from residents of various villages and hoblis notified for development of the layout, spread across 4814.15 acres.

Many complaints from residents in Bangalore West have also been pouring into the Bangalore Development Authority head office.

Recently, members of Rajeshwari Layout Site Owners Association and of Chellaghatta village held a meeting regarding advertisements intimating the acquisition of land and the proposed development of the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout.

Association members opined that land chosen by BDA for the layout was well developed, with already existing residential localities.

Over 100 plots have well-built houses, while the remaining are already under development.

On any given day, the BDA receives about 40 complaints and objections. Most of these state that the area chosen has houses and welldeveloped layouts.

Some queries concern the fate of parks that exist within areas notified for development. Will these remain?

A preliminary notification for land acquisition in over 12 villages, four belonging to Yeshwanthpur Hobli and eight belonging to Kengeri Hobli of Bangalore Urban District, falling on the Magadi Road- Mysore Road area, was published in the Gazzette on May 22 and issued to people on May 26.

BDA Deputy Commissioner, Land Acquisition, Syed Ajaz Ahmed, told this website’s newspaper that the development agency receives many complaints each day; all these have not yet been addressed. "We have not served any notice to residents.

Notices will be issued a month after the notification was listed in the Gazzette (June 22) after which the objections raised will be looked into," he said.

The official observed that most of the objections were filed by "benami representatives" who have built unauthorised houses.
