Kheny proposes three expressways in State
DH News Service, Bangalore:
NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny has proposed three new expressway projects for the state.

They are expressways between Bidar and Bangalore, Mangalore and Kolar and Karwar and Bellary. “My intention is that people in remote corners of the State should reach the capital in 5-6 hours”, he said.

He was one among the audience at Raj Bhavan, where Katta Subramanya Naidu was sworn in as minister of Cabinet on Saturday. Speaking to press persons he said, detail project reports for the proposed projects are being prepared. Soon the DPRs will be presented to the State government, he said.

Asked on his on-going BMIC project, Kheny said, the first phase of the work (road up to Bidadi and peripheral ring road) will be completed in three months. The entire road network will be ready in next two years. “I am hopeful that the new government will abide by the Supreme Court’s directions and support us in completing the work at the earliest”, he said.
