NHAI invite bids for BIA

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has invited request for qualification (RFQ) for the Rs 450-crore project to improve connectivity to Bengaluru International Airport (BIA).

K H Muniyappa, Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways said the project aimed at providing faster connectivity to the new BIA, includes upgradation of the Hebbal-BIA section of national highway (NH) 7.

Elevated highway
Earlier the minister inspected the on-going work of the 9.5 kilometre elevated highway on Hosur Road and said the project scheduled to be completed by July 2008, has been delayed due to the high density of traffic on the road.

“The NHAI will speed up the construction process and complete it by March-April 2009,”Mr Muniyappa added.
