The BDA on Friday demolished a commercial complex in Rajajinagar I Block. Built on site no 444, the value of the property has been estimated at Rs 6 crore.
A person named Keshav Iyengar, in connivance with BDA employee Basavalingappa, allegedly created fake documents and sold the property to Markendaya Naidu who built a complex with a cellar and three floors. The BDA won all cases in the court pertaining to ownership.
The demolition was carried out by BDA task force under the guidance of superintendent of police, BDA, estate officer and executive engineer (west division) Nagaraj Murthy.
Property recovered
The BDA recovered property worth Rs 23 crore at JP Nagar VIII phase on Friday.
The BDA had notified five acres and 30 guntas of land on survey nos 169/3 and 169/5 of Kothanur village, Uttarahalli hobli, Bangalore South taluk for formation of JP Nagar VIII phase. However, revenue site-holders under the shelter of court cases had put up 3 RCC buildings and a 6 AC sheet shed in the notified area.
After vacation of the court cases, action was taken to demolish the buildings.
