Distress calls
As BIAL continues to face opening blues, with the third consecutive postponement of its launch, the confusion resulted in over 14,000 passengers calling up airline operators to confirm on the arrival/ departure of flights, from May 22. Airline operators and travel agents said they had received thousands of calls in the past week on where they should board or alight from flights from the night of May 22.

In order to assist citizens, the BIAL announced a phone number - 40581111 - for getting information on routes to the airport, transport facilities, queries on services at the airport, vehicle parking, etc.

Taxis off roads
Thousands of taxis affiliated to the Bangalore Airport and Taxi Drivers’ Union and the Karnataka City Taxi Operators’ Association stayed off the roads till Wednesday evening, demanding allotment of space at the BIA.
