Underpass: BBMP claims go wrong?

Underpass: BBMP claims go wrong?
Bangalore, DHNS:

Apprehensions over the underpass constructed by BBMP at the Cauvery junction have come true. When the work was on, experts and the public had raised many questions over the design of the project.

Water-logging was expected in the underpass during rain. But the Palike had refuted such possibilities. On Wednesday, it was proved wrong.

As the rain began in the evening, water collected at the underpass affecting vehicular movement. Two-wheeler and four-wheeler riders passing towards Bellary Road from Bhashyam Circle had a tough time crossing the junction.

BBMP Commissioner Dr S Subramanya had told reporters on February 20 there will be no water-logging in the underpass during rain.

Underpass opens
BBMP opened the underpass constructed at Malleswaram for vehicles on Wednesday evening. BBMP Commisioner Dr S Subramanya, said that the underpass has been opened for vehicles on an experimental basis for a period of one week. It will be formally inaugurated next week.
